About the Easymount Sign Air 1600 Cold Laminator

The Easymount Sign Air 1600 Cold Laminator is a premium wide-format finishing solution engineered for precision, efficiency, and ease of use. Featuring advanced air-assisted roller technology, this laminator delivers smooth, consistent pressure for flawless results—making it ideal for high-quality laminating, mounting, and vinyl application. The integrated air pressure system enhances control and consistency by providing even roller pressure across the full width. This makes it easier to handle delicate or large materials, reducing the overall operator effort during mounting and laminating while simultaneously providing superior results.

The Easymount Sign Air 1600 operates using cold lamination for maximum material compatibility; operating without heat, this laminator is ideal for heat-sensitive media. It uses pressure-sensitive adhesives for clean, consistent bonding and offers an instantaneous start as it has no warm-up time. Additionally, it has an operator friendly design, prioritising ease of use by integrating features such as swing-out arm technology for easy access during loading and cleaning. Moreover, it has self-gripping mandrels for easy, tool-free film changeover, a foot pedal operation for hands-free control and a reverse function for quickly correcting mis-feeds. Also, a flip down feed tray supports media when feeding large prints to prevent sagging or bending. This feed tray also improves accuracy as it lines up prints square to the rollers, reducing the risk of skewing during lamination. This is particularly useful on this pneumatic model as the air evenly applies pressure across the print, making the feed stage critical; any bad alignment at the beginning will automatically produce a skewed result. The flip tray helps to ensure clean entry.

With a 1600mm working width, it is perfectly suited to large-format graphics, signage, and display production.

Reel-to-Reel Capability with an Integrated Take-Up Unit

Designed for continuous productivity, this model features reel to reel laminating which means the machine feeds the material from one roll and winds it onto another continuously. Instead of handling individual sheets, the laminator processes long lengths of media in one smooth run. Simultaneously, the take-up unit sits at the back of the laminator and automatically rewinds the finished material onto a core as it exits the rollers by using self-gripping mandrels. This eliminates the need for a second operator to catch finished materials, reducing labour costs. It keeps long prints clean and prevents creases or damage that can occur when the material feeds onto the floor.  This makes this model ideal for long format graphics such as banners and vehicle graphics as it handles full rolls instead of cut sheets. Additionally, the take-up unit also improves tension and tracking as it maintains alignment as the media moves through the rollers. It also winds up waste materials like release liners during cold lamination, making it efficient with waste handling.

Typical Applications:

  • Banners
  • Pop-up displays
  • Outdoor signage
  • Mounting prints to board
  • Apply vinyl tapes and adhesive films
