Additional Information

Introduction to Toner Foiling

Toner foiling, also known as digital toner foiling, foil fusing, or foil sleeking, is a contemporary finishing technique that uses special foil to add metallic or pigment effects to toner-printed designs. The process begins with printing your design on a laser printer or copier using regular dry toner.

Once the sheet is printed, a roll of toner-reactive foil is placed over the printed area. The assembly is then passed through a heated roller, either in a laminator or a dedicated foiling machine. Under heat and pressure, the foil bonds only to the toner, not to the unprinted paper, resulting in a clean metallic or coloured finish.
