The Ideal 1138 paper trimmer is a professional cutting tool which combines precision and durability. It offers a cutting length of 385mm and a cutting capacity of 50 sheets, designed to accurately trim A4 and slightly larger sheets. It has a re-sharpenable blade made of the highest quality Solingen Germany Steel, known for its durability and precision.

The manual lever press allows for precise adjustment of the pressing pressure, while the precision side lay with a measuring scale and adjustable back-gauge offers additional accuracy. Meanwhile, the transparent, shatterproof safety guard with an automated function offers additional safety. The 1138 features standard paper sizes from A6 to A4 as well as American sizes and various angle indications as printed on the table for convenience.

There is a solid cast aluminium blade mounting bracket with double pivot bearings for the blade axel, contributing to better cutting performance. This is alternative to a single bolt or single pivot; offering a smoother cutting motion as the bearings reduce friction. Therefore, the blade arm is able to move smoothly and consistently through the cut. Moreover, because the pivot rotates freely, more of your download force goes into the cutting of the paper, not overcoming friction. These two bearings hold the axel more securely than one, preventing side-to-side wobble, keeping the blade aligned with the cutting edge. This also improves its durability as there is less wear overtime; with the load distributed over two bearings, the mechanism lasts longer and maintains accuracy after many cuts.

The Ideal 1138 is also more preferable than an electric guillotine when trimming the front edge of stapled and folded booklets due to the problem of trying to stack up the booklets under the guillotine clamp.
