The Rigo Megabind PUR single-clamp perfect binder offers high-quality production perfect binding with semi-autonomous operation. A unique combination of productivity and pricing make the Megabind the perfect choice for any book binder or printer. Push button simplicity for on-demand production of soft back books. Designed to help commercial and digital printers to bring in-house, highly profitable, short to medium-run, on-demand binding. Capable of handling sewn sections, single sheets and folded sections to extend its capabilities in a professional environment. The Megabind PUR also features an automatic air-suction cover feeder with inline manually adjusted cover creasing, a large Omron colour touch screen, job programming and a compact design.

Rigo’s PUR binders stand out with their “unique high pressure” closed PUR Application System, making Rigo binders the envy of all other digital PUR binding manufacturers worldwide. This unique PUR Application system removes all the difficulties associated with PUR Binders. This closed tank system applies glue through a patented orbital nozzle system, making the clean-down and maintenance processes almost redundant.

The Megabind is ridiculously simple to use and de-skills the PUR binding process. Automated systems measure the book thickness and spine length, and the Megabind automatically sets the nozzle thickness and glue application length to match those specifications. Operators can also adjust the book block positioning and glue start/stop points for even greater accuracy. The orbital nozzle application system applies a precise quantity of glue to the spine and book sides. Operators can adjust the nipping pressure and cover application dwell times directly from the touch screen, giving them total control at their fingertips.

Because the Megabind requires no pre-melter, it uses a unique closed tank system that holds up to 3 kg of glue. A gear pump delivers glue directly to the orbital nozzle for precise application. Electronic sensors measure the glue tank level and keep the operator informed of remaining volumes. After use, operators can add flushing cleaners to the tank and flush them through the orbital nozzle for a quick and easy clean-down process. These features make the Megabind the most user-friendly PUR binder available.

The Megabind is perfectly suited to short- to medium-run on-demand applications.

Why Rigo?

Rigo, based in Hungary, was established in 1990. Headquartered in Budapest with two separate production sites owned by the company. The production is carried out in modern factories with one housing the main assembly whilst the other houses the CNC Laser Cutters and CNC Edge Bending Machinery.

A continuous growth in sales is driven by their dedication to continuous market orientated R&D innovation. In tandem with the high quality of their manufactured products. A computerised production management system was first introduced in 1995. Since then the systems have been continually developed and reached ISO9001 certification in 1998.
