Choosing Lamination Over Throw Away Resources in Schools
In a post-Covid-19 world, will we still be looking to continue to be a throw-away society, or will we look to other ways to help preserve our environment?
To help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus during 2020 our schools have increasingly returned to being a throw-away industry. While we know that sharing or reusing paper items is a method of spreading the disease, are single-use items really the way forward?
Laminate over throw away
Globally we are becoming more reliant on technology in the classroom. This means that most schools can display their learning materials on screens in front of the students. However, we know that this is not always the case, and single-use learning materials are still being used. Where the same information is being used repeatedly, your school may want to invest in a laminating machine. Laminated materials have the ability to be wiped clean, keeping them safe to be reused time and time again and helping to move our schools away from single-use items.
Which laminator for our school
Previously, those schools that have invested in a laminator have opted for a smaller pouch laminator. These are relatively cheap options, especially when on a tight budget. However, they do also include the need to insert each individual sheet into its own pouch and sealed individually. For schools who will be doing this on a bigger scale, it might be worth investing in something a little larger, and with more automation to save time. The Revo T14 is a great automated choice, taking up very little space in an office and not requiring an operator makes it all the more functional.
There are a number of print finish machines that make great additions to any school office. Not only will the laminator be of great use, but also binding machines and guillotines to help increase the number of learning materials that can be created in house, rather than having to outsource. While the initial cost may be higher, the long term savings can help with the school budget. It’s also great for when the students undertake their own projects to be able to bind them to take away.
