Party Décor Investment Includes AfterPrint’s Digital Booklet Maker

Established party decoration company Party Décor has announced a £400,000 investment in their business, including a Duplo DBM-150 booklet maker from AfterPrint.

After doubling their sales during 2020, the company have expanded their strategy to build a second site for customers that include Amazon.

The Duplo booklet maker was purchased to replace an ageing Plockmastic System, with Party Décor owner Jan Jaskowiec explaining the purchase, saying,

“Previously, we hand fed our booklet maker for up to 6 hours per day which was not only slow but also unreliable for the type of work we needed to produce. The new Duplo system has made a huge difference to the quality of work. Our focus was to expand the booklet side of the business, with this aim in mind we picked this machine. I am always trying to grow each part of the business and the automation in the Duplo booklet maker allows us to do so much more and it delivers consistently high quality finished booklets – the saving in manpower is phenomenal!

“But the standout feature is the touch screen PC because it simplifies the setup and operation of the machine. We have multiple operators on any given day so it is great that all the job information can be stored on the PC and every part of the setup is recalled in an instant. This ease of use gives us reliable production regardless of the operator.”

Working with AfterPrint

Jan Jaskowiec also spoke of working with AfterPrint –

“We purchase all our finishing machinery from AfterPrint Ltd, they make the whole process painless and simple. From placing the order with Chris O’Brien to the installation and training, we have been expertly guided along each step of the process which is exactly what we have come to expect from the team at AfterPrint ltd. When it comes to servicing our machines, their service is exceptional. They have always gone the extra mile, and nothing is too much trouble. On the rare occasions when we do have an issue, the AfterPrint team is always on hand, even outside of the normal working hours. When needed onsite they are always here within hours or at the latest the very next morning, I can’t recommend them highly enough,” he said.

“We’ve seen many companies shutter themselves during the pandemic, but we have taken advantage of various gaps in the market and have used this time to position ourselves well. Our company has grown in the last year, in 2019 we recorded £1M in sales, in 2020 that figure was £2M, this year we are on target for £2.5M. This is a pace I am happy with which means we need to be ahead of the curve in regard to equipment. We operate a couple of Konica Minolta models including the latest Accurio press as well as a host of Mimaki wide format printers for our banner and signage work. Our finishing department has been recently updated with a new Grafcut G52H Guillotine and a B3 digital cutting table as well as this latest addition of the Duplo DBM-150 booklet system. We are still looking to expand, and I am still speaking with AfterPrint Ltd about a few more ideas I have in the pipeline so watch this space.”
