The Duplo 350 Digital Booklet Maker System marries the DSF-2200 Sheet Feeder with the DBM350 Booklet Maker and Trimmer, creating a cost-effective mid-range booklet-making system. Configured to meet the ever-changing demands of today’s digital printer. Designed to take the printed output from multiple sources and streamline the finishing process through one finishing line.
Built around the DSF-2200, a heavy-duty sheet feeding system. Providing the user with the power, reliability and flexibility to handle a wide range of materials with consistent results. Equipped with an 8 belt feeding mechanism which enables the feed head to make contact with a large area of the sheet. Each bin comes with three separate DC fans, one to provide suction for feeding, another to provide front air separation and a final one to provide side air. Combined they ensure optimal paper separation and reliable feeding. The Duplo AMS (Air Management System) allows the operator to fine tune air control for each feed tray.
A PC Controller manages the system. This automatically sets up jobs within a few seconds without the need for any tools. The operator can create and save jobs with ease for future recall. State of the art Ultrasonic Technology comes as standard. The ultrasonic sensor detects air gaps between the sheets when a double feed occurs, regardless of ink colour or paper density. This enables the operator to feed different paper weights within the same job.
Integrates the Duplo DBM350T
To the left is the DBM-350 Booklet maker and Trimmer. Duplo’s fully automatic mid-range booklet-maker meets the needs of a busy digital print environment conscious of budget expenditure. But, needing to produce a broad range of quality material. Typical production is a wide variety of booklet sizes of A4, A5, A6 and landscape A5. Custom sizes and hand feeding capabilities are also standard.
Stitching heads provide a heavier duty cycle and lower running costs compared to staples. Loop form stitches are also possible, allowing the booklet to be filed in a ring binder. An integrated spine press creates flatter books for a better finish. Whilst the fore-edge trimmer unit provides one final neat finish to the booklet.
Integrity & Security
The system can be equipped with features like Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) and optional Barcode Kits that can read 1D and 2D barcodes. The kit comprises of two readers for each feed tray and is designed to check the integrity of each set by reading a printed barcode on each sheet that is processed. Securing the production process and guaranteeing an accurate result. These features are especially important for personalised and variable production.
