Renz has decades of experience designing and manufacturing punching and binding equipment at its headquarters in Heubach, southern Germany. Its range spans compact desktop machines to modular, high-output automated systems, giving businesses the flexibility to choose equipment that fits their production needs.
The company combines specialist expertise in wire binding systems with modern computer-aided design and CNC manufacturing technology, while producing many components in-house to maintain control over quality and production.
As an official Renz partner, AfterPrint Ltd can help you compare equipment based on your binding method, document formats, stock, typical volumes and the level of automation you need.
For an office or education environment, straightforward operation and flexibility may be the priority. A commercial print room might need to move larger batches through punching and binding without delays. We can help you assess suitable options and, if you’re expanding an existing setup, consider how additional Renz binding equipment could work alongside the machinery you already use.
We also supply genuine Renz binding wires, making it easy to source machinery and everyday binding consumables together, with guidance on selecting the correct wire size and pitch when required.
Start with the finished document, then work back to the equipment needed to produce it. Binding style, document thickness, production volume and how readers use each item all influence your choice.
Wire binding gives reports, calendars and presentations a neat finish, with pages that open flat and turn back on themselves. Plastic coil offers similar movement with a flexible spine, making it useful for frequently handled manuals and reference materials.
Comb binding suits documents that need updating. You can reopen the comb to add or replace sheets, so revised pages don’t require a completely new bind. This makes it a practical option for training packs and internal handbooks.
Combined Renz machines bring punching and binding together on a desktop. Separate paper punching machines provide dedicated preparation capacity, while selected modular systems accommodate different formats through interchangeable tooling and binding modules.
Check punching capacity and finished binding capacity separately. A binder may accommodate a thick document even though its pages need punching in several smaller batches. Include covers and dividers when assessing the complete document.
For wire-bound work, the punched holes must match your binding wire. Pitch describes their spacing: 3:1 means three holes per inch, while 2:1 means two.
Diameter determines how much material the wire accommodates. Choose it based on the finished document’s thickness and the relevant sizing chart, so pages turn freely without selecting an unnecessarily oversized wire.
